This was Tony and Roy's 4th trip with Craig and the crew { Our second in the Extremadura Region }.

Each trip just gets better and better. As alway's Craig put us on the fish from day one. [Boy does this Guy work his Rocks off to make sure his guests catch ] and Kat made sure we were well fed and watered.

Also if you want a great social evening [or two ] Craig won't let you down.On one night out craig introduced us to two of his personal friends, the Mayor elect of one Town and the current Mayor of another no less. Apart from being good company they are both keen to promote the Region to Angler's from the UK. This can only be good news for anyone considering making the trip.

Apart from unusually extreme weather conditions for the time of the year [ Who said the sun alway's shines in Spain ] and the Carp and Barbel spawning late, the overall fishing was truely superb.

Roy caught Barbel from 5.5lbs to 8.5lbs [average 7lbs] a new personal best. Carp from 15.5lbs to 39.25lbs another PB [average 23lbs].

Tony [Man of Action] had great sport on feeder including 42 Cat Fish on one session [ a PB he can keep ]. When not feeder fishing {or asleep] he also caught Barbel to 11lbs a new personal best and Carp to 24lbs.

If you think the Carp at home scrap well, do yourselves a favor and book a trip with Craig and see for yourself how hard these prestine condition natural Carp fight. A real adrenalin rush.

Sorry Craig, but I am determined to catch a double figure Barble and beat your current PB of 39.5lbs. [Can't beleive I lost out by 0.25oz ] and to Tony winning the draw for next run and getting that 11lb Barbel. So it means that you will have to put up with me again in November 2007 [the weather can't be any worse can it?.] Tony and I will also both be back in2008.

See you both in November.

Hi Craig,

Having just returned from our first annual fishing holiday to the
Extremedura region we all wished to take the opportunity to thank you in
writing for a thoroughly enjoyable break organised comprehensively by your
company.

Our party of five anglers have all previously travelled extensively
throughout Ireland and Holland and we were all unanimous in that we feel
that the service provided by you was second to none!

This included the obvious points like being our guide and putting us all on
fish, to the more subtle things like collection each way from the airport,
providing good quality bait and tackle, to collecting our food and
essentials leaving us more time fishing on the bank.

Apart from that our party of five with your help achieved the following
results in just one week:

1028 lbs of fish caught in a single day between us all!
269 lbs of fish in a day for one angler!
5 X Personal Best Highest Weights of fish caught!
Crucian Carp to nearly 5lbs landed!
Numerous Common Carp to 12lbs landed
Plus an 8lbs 8ozs Comizo Barbel off a river!

The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and you as the host did everything to
maximise our holiday and for this we all thank you enormously. You even
joined in with the banter and came out for a few beers, which again showed
that you were prepared to go further than most.

Our sarcasm also didnt phase you, although it has to be said your middle
name must be end peg! :-)

In comparison to Ireland and Holland it was initially a little bit more
expensive, however as the food and drink was considerably cheaper and there
was no petrol to include overall it came out about the same price - so is
definitely worth a bash as a change from the usual haunts....

All the best in the future from Craig, Norman, Andy, Mark, and our infamous
Spanish Champion the right honourable Hong Kong Spewey!

Having already enjoyed two excellent weeks fishing with Craig on the Ebro in both 2003 and 2004, Tony and I were both disappointed not to be able to get out to Spain in 2005. When Craig decided to move to Extremadura, we both jumped at the chance to join him for two weeks in May 2006.

This area of Spain is beautiful. It is totally unspoilt and can truly be described as real Spain.

We were joined for our second week by Nigel who has written his own testimonial which we both fully endorse everything he wrote. The locals love their fishing and are extremely friendly.

Even though we do not speak the lingo, it did not stop us enjoying their company until 4-00 AM in the morning (Seville had just beaten Middlesbrough in the EUFA Cup), not such a good idea when Craig had arranged a 6-00 AM start! Still, Craig’s bacon sarnies on the bank were very welcome.
No chance of sleeping though, as the buzzers were continually going off and one of us would be into another decent fish. The fishing is truly superb and the potential for a fish of a lifetime is there on every cast.
We are already booked for another two weeks in April 2007 and can not wait to meet up with Craig and Cat for what is guaranteed to be another two great weeks. No doubt we will be back in 2008. Roy and Tony

Sorry it took so long, but thanks for a great week's fishing we had with you. Adam really enjoyed it and keeps on about it. My hand and my head soon healed up, although I haven't touched a drop of brandy since. We learnt a good deal about carp fishing and how it applies to barbel and I am slowly getting some more specialist tackle and accessories together, as well as catching some carp on semifixed bolt rigs. I have even located some embalses that are stocked with carp and barbel in Portugal and the Huelva region in Spain, where we have our apartment, so I intend to gear-up down there as well.

Below is a recommendation but I couldn't give one for the hotel. If there is one with a better standard of service and comfort available next year, I would love to come again, if you would have us of course. End tackle would not be a problem as I know what to bring next time.

Many thanks again Craig for all of your help, advice and for looking after us so well in Extremadura. Without you it would not have been possible to catch carp and barbel you only dream about

Mike Bourne.

Just a words regarding our stay with you.
When was looking for our fishing trip on the internet, I found all the normal carp and cat sites, not really what I was looking  for. So when I found Extrema Fishing offering pleasure fishing I thought this is right up my street, so you guest it, we booked.....
Upon our arrival at the airport, as promised Craig was there to meet us and we set of on our way to Extremadura. Not 20 minutes into the trip came 'hey guys, are you hungry?' ....'yes' was the reply, so we stopped at this bar come restaurant which was great, the food was really good, a three coarse meal all for 9 euros including the wine. Good start Craig!! Ok, I like my food, all fed and watered we set off again. The journey being some 2.5 -3 hours long soon went because although Craig has only been in Spain for 6 years, he has a very good knowledge of  the country incites into the lakes rivers and reservoirs, which all helped to pass the time away..

Helpful is one way to refer to Craig, but that would be selling him short. The week went very quickly, as is always the case. Fishing was great for the whole week, if we did not catch in one peg we would move to find some fish somewhere else, not that was the case very often. If Craig said the fish would be in a certain place they were for sure!!!!   Picked up at 7 am each morning, dropped of at night to the pub, it was a brilliant routine for a week away fishing and drinking. I have been to a lot of other places fishing, spending most of the week looking for fish that always seemed to be somewhere else, so the guided fishing holiday gets the thumbs up from us.
Thanks again Craig, 10 out of 10, ill be back see you soon.

Best regards, Shaun, Christchurch Angling Centre

"Originally traveled to fish the Ebro, but decided that we would travel the odd 600miles to fish a new fishery. What a great decision! A completely untapped pristine coarse fishery, pristine environment and a real chance of a monster. Craig is just starting to get it sorted out (October 2005). I would bet that the new record common will come to one of Craig's rods over the next couple of years the potential is absolutely untouched. There are no foreign anglers here at the moment and the Spanish approach for Carp on these waters is still at the boiled spuds and rod bells stage. (they still catch). Its a really rich environment and the carp are heavily built naturally. Not as prolific as Canada or some of the stocked lakes I have fished on the
continent but the fishing seems to be neatly divided into a decent number of large carp on one water and a huge quantity of general coarse fish on the other waters. It is a bite a chuck on one of the waters with Barbel taking deadbaits and half a dozen runs a day on the big fish lakes. I stress again this is a real natural fishery that is still maturing, if the environment that you fish in is important to you then you will not beat this area for its cleaness and must be one of the least spoilt environments in Europe. Chuck in the fact that dinner is 7 euros for 3 courses with wine and its also bloody reasonable. I shall return!!!!!!! Pete."

Had a excellent week with Craig although we went at the wrong time of year for the best fishing we still had a great time. He looked after us totally from sunrise to sunset. Just beware if he comes up with any "silly ideas" ( know what i mean Craig ...Boars and Oars)  This area of Spain is totally untouched by tourism and the scenery unbelievable. What Craig don't know about fishing is not worth knowing and apart from being a excellent guide he is also bloody good company. I think Craig has got something in this area, the variety of fishing, the scenery, and the locals are all brilliant, and i wish him all the luck in the world. I did not want to leave and come home i was almost forced on the plane home and i know one thing for sure i will be back as soon as possible. When i got home i was so relaxed my daughter thought i was drunk.
I can not praise him enough if you are looking to fish in Spain and have a good time.
Thanks for an excellent week Craig
Best Wishes Nigel

Very Professionally run. We learned a lot about fishing which will help during the rest of our holiday. See you later this year.
Jane and Ian (Crusoe) Robinson

Excellent information in all aspects of fishing. Craig put us on the fish, we caught Carp, Barbel, Black-Bass, Pike and catfish. All three of us enjoyed our stay in Extremadura, a great place for a holiday in inland Spain.

Peter.

A great place offering great fishing in fantastic scenery. We caught good nets of net size Barbel and Carp and the pleasure fishing is almost a bite a chuck. Already booked to come back, see you soon Craig.
