5 Night Fishing Carp Marathon on The Orellana, Extremadura, Spain

9th - 14th November 2008

Extrema Fishing Spain would like to thank everyone that supported this event, the competitors were a great bunch of lads.

The total amount raised from the event was 1092.00 Euros.

The amount raised from the competition entrants’ fees was 700 Euros - to be divided between BDAA and APROSUBA 12.

A special thank you to Robert Felton. His son had to cancel his trip to the competition as he managed to find work and couldn’t attend.  The entrance fee was returned to Robert on his arrival, however Robert donated the 300.00 Euros for the cause saying ‘I didn’t expect it back, so I would like to donate the fee to the fundraising event’

The total amount of bets in our local area for Craig’s total catch weight came to 124.00 Euros, so another 62.00 Euros raised for APROSUBA 12, the other half went to competition contestant Trevor who’s guess was the nearest at 88kg.

Craig’s mother Ruth who lives in Alicante, donated a meal for two at a local restaurant. A total of 30.00 euros was placed as bets, again for the nearest guess of Craig’s total weight and was won by Mrs Annie Francis.

 The fishing
Unfortunately the nights were very cold nights putting the Carp off the feed for the last 3 days of the competition; however we had some nice fish, a good laugh and raised a reasonable amount of money.

 Robert Felton managed 5 fish of 14, 21, 28.5, 29 and 27lb.

He received an A-Tract Baits voucher, a section of bait from Ebro Carp and a 1 week holiday with Extrema Fishing Spain.

A few words from Robert, his full comment can be seen on our testimonials page.

It was an experience you cherish especially when you have caught a few lumps previous both in the UK and France.
From start to finish the entire trip was top draw, the venue was awesome and I enjoyed the local atmosphere and hospitality at the hotel. Your guidance clearly reflects the hard work you have put in and anyone who gets involved with a charity event deserves respect. It was a pleasure meeting you both and you will see me again, that’s for sure.

Andy Mitchell, Mick Herrington and Trevor Tull all received a selection of goodies from Ebro Carp and a 1 week holiday with Extrema Fishing Spain

Thank you to Ken from The online Keepsack  for the coverage of the event. He was always on the ball and gave good in-depth reports.

Extrema Fishing Spain are hoping to cater for disabled anglers in the future, it is a personal ambition for Craig as his father spent the last years of his life confined to a wheelchair.
